Privacy Policy
How Echo Rise Africa Ltd collects, uses, and protects personal information on echoriseafrica.tech.
Last updated: 15 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, how we look after it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have written it in plain language on purpose.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Echo Rise Africa Ltd ("we", "us") is a company registered in Ghana with its office in Accra. We build and operate digital platforms for commerce and education.
This policy covers echoriseafrica.tech only, including the contact form on our Contact page. It does not cover our products Bintwina and Schtracky. Those products are separate services with their own privacy policies, which you will find on their own websites (bintwina.com and schtracky.com).
2. What information we collect
Information you give us
We only ask for information when you choose to contact us. If you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message that you type in. If you email or call us directly, we receive whatever you choose to share.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our servers keep basic technical records when a page is requested. These records may include your IP address, the type and version of your browser, your general location (derived from your IP address), the pages you visited, and the date and time of your visit. We use these records to keep the site working, to understand which pages are useful, and to protect the site from abuse.
Information we do not collect
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, we do not build advertising profiles of visitors, and we do not ask for payment details on this website.
3. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- reply to your message and deal with your enquiry;
- keep the website secure, available, and working properly;
- understand, in general terms, how visitors use the site so we can improve it;
- keep records we are required to keep by law.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to send you marketing you did not ask for.
4. Why we are allowed to use it
Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) requires us to have a lawful reason for handling personal information. We rely on:
- Your consent, when you choose to send us a message through the contact form or by email;
- Our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website and in responding to people who contact us;
- Legal obligation, where we are required to keep or provide particular records.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by asking us to delete your details. See section 10, "Your rights".
5. Who we share it with
We keep your information inside our company, with a small number of exceptions:
- Service providers who help us run the website, such as our hosting provider and our email provider. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers or auditors, where it becomes necessary.
- Authorities, where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.
We never sell personal information to anyone.
6. How long we keep it
- Contact messages: up to 24 months from the date we receive them, so that we can follow up on continuing conversations, after which we delete them.
- Server logs: up to 12 months, which is long enough to investigate problems and abuse.
If a law requires us to keep something for longer, we keep it for as long as that law requires and no longer.
7. How we protect it
We protect the website and the information we hold by using encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the whole site, limiting access to our systems to the few people who need it, keeping software up to date, and requiring appropriate standards from our service providers. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take these steps seriously and we review them.
8. Information stored outside Ghana
Some of our service providers, including our website hosting provider, may store data on servers located outside Ghana. Where that happens, we choose providers who are able to protect personal information to a standard comparable with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
9. Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. Cookies are often used to remember who you are between pages, or to follow you around the internet for advertising.
This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. We keep cookies to a minimum, and where our hosting provider sets a cookie it is only for security or for keeping the site working correctly.
You can control cookies through your browser settings: you can block cookies, delete the ones already stored, and set your browser to warn you before a cookie is saved. Blocking cookies will not stop you from reading this website or contacting us.
10. Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) you have the right to:
- Be told what personal information we hold about you and why;
- See a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- Have it corrected if it is wrong or out of date;
- Have it deleted, unless we are required by law to keep it;
- Object to particular uses, and withdraw your consent at any time;
- Complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana if you believe we have handled your information badly.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@echoriseafrica.tech with "Privacy request" in the subject line and tell us what you would like us to do. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask for proof of identity before we act, so that we do not hand your information to the wrong person.
11. Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them through it. Our products include software used by schools. Where a school uses our products, the school is responsible for the information it holds about its learners, and we handle that information under our agreement with the school rather than under this policy.
12. Other websites
This website links to other websites, including our products Bintwina (bintwina.com) and Schtracky (schtracky.com). Once you follow a link away from echoriseafrica.tech, the privacy policy of that website applies. We encourage you to read it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website and our practices change. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on this page. Please check back from time to time.
